Cold Bleak Facts

Who would know me better?

Was just reflecting on some comments made by a certain
individual over a couple of emails and I realized that this
person doesn’t know me at all. What came to mind was
just the standard protocol from the person seen from the
person’s vantage point.

Maybe I’ve never given anyone a chance to know me better,
in fact people who claim to know me inside out have been
proven wrong many a times and subconsciously I’ve too let it
be and just do / talk the way they would expect me to; It’s
getting irritating but maybe because there’s no longer any form
of common topic to divulge in or maybe it’s simply I’ve move
on and get on with life.

What I’m trying to remind myself here is that the real me and
the virtual me are two different person. In terms of relating,
expressing and bullshitting.

But what I know for certain is that I’m a person who dislike to
waste time doing things which I do not see a purpose. If I do,
I will probably work my ass off and complete it with my best
effort.

Heart full of gladness

Looking at the new layout of the church’s newsletter and reading
through the different articles / testimonies and updates emphasized
something deeper into my heart this morning.

The hard work and urgent leave taken to help out in GoodNewsSingapore
is not in vain. The different precious youths who volunteered to help out
to take pictures of the events from there is simply a blessing to me and
especially to the church; I’m sure God is like applauding them, standing
before his throne and saying “Look at them! They sacrificed and yet they
enjoyed themselves in serving”. Though tired, I see a sense of
accomplishment, pride and awe because they are right in the midst of
what God is doing. Even in the “fleshy” way of looking at it, hey the
pictures they took are being used in a printed material and the whole
church are looking!
Let’s not forget the two behind the scene people, Keh and Shawn; May
God bless them with strength, peace and joy in what they are doing. A
true turning point in how the church updates the people within.

I believe that the “after-effects” of GoodNewsSingapore will still be felt
in years to come. Miracle upon miracle with life changing moments to be
shared.

Are we getting senseless?

Was at a wake the other day and I saw something
which irks me. Remembering that the family mourning
have a lot of relatives not believing in God or Jesus and
there’s some elderly etc etc. Seats were taken by these
young people or I would say believers to be very specific.

Maybe I can say it’s very human. “I saw a seat, I TAKE!” but
also maybe it because they didn’t see it and no one told
them about it.

Guess we’re really getting sense-tized.
What could had caused it?
How should we re-sense-tized ourselves?

Heart, Mind, Attitude

Was chatting with someone the other day who was
sending me back home after prawning and pigging out.
The topic slowly swayed to people serving and what we
saw and experienced. Then a certain name was mentioned
saying that he was constantly complaining “why am I always
on duty?!?!?!” and stuff like that.

It’s true, people may have served “too much” but like what
this person who shared said “Ultimately it’s God we need to
focus on”, I concur.
But also I do realized that people these days served with a
straight face; no longer you see the joy of serving but it’s
almost like a chore and like a ball of chain fastened on their
ankle, they dragged their feet around. Are we all too tired in
doing things or is it just bad management of people or could
it just be we lost focus on why we even do things.

The familiar quote “God loves a cheerful giver” doesn’t have to
ONLY mean giving offerings etc. But to give cheerfully a service
to the people in the congregation is something that God loves
too! In fact even in science, it’s proven because a happy mental
self, work seemed to be lighter and things get done faster too.

We cannot deny that both our hearts and mind wanders and need
to constantly remind ourselves who to focus on. So keeping oneself
near to people whom we can trust and at the same time share our
lives with is critical and an invaluable asset in our walk with Christ.

VFC Church Camp 2009

Finally the long awaited church camp 2009 in KL, Malaysia had
ended. Truth enough to my expectation, I see God moving in yet
another way. No longer it’s just the surface where people cry, laugh
and etc. But it’s a time where decisions are made and after they were
made, choose to follow thru. Been away for one year odd from
church due to work may caused people to say much about it but yet
I thank God daily in those days about keeping my health (I never got
sick!) But now I do feel God’s affirming many things which I’ve seen
from the different glimpses when I do pop over in the morning sunday
services.

Just like my good friend had blurt out “Joshua! Moses is dead, move!”
I do concur his choice of words. Not in negative way but to show that
the older generation is moving off to what God had in stored and the
transition had started (now it’s even more obvious). Just as Pastor Ron
shared about passing the Elijah mantel to Elisha, Elijah had to “complete”
his “missions” first, I sincerely believe the current leadership had gone
far and beyond what it is for them to complete their missions. And the
“younger” leaders had risen up and start to take up key positions and at
the same time come under the mentorship of those older ones.

It’s indeed a pivotal time whereby all past hurts, disappointments,
discouragements and more so self needed to be laid down and nailed to
the cross of Jesus Christ. Without them the church is able to better fulfill
what God has in stored for the body.

See that the time is nigh and that a generation of faceless people will
reach out during these end times and ensure that they would do all they
can to populate heaven and plunder hell.

Not to us, but to Your Name be the Glory!
